The village of Monkey River is your gateway to Belize’s pristine nature.
On this boat tour, your guide will point out exotic animals and plants along the way. You’ll learn about the history of the region, occasionally seeing locals carrying on with traditional occupations like fishing.
Along the way, the tour will stop to allow participants to explore the pristine jungle and mangrove forests that lines the banks of the river.
The guide will point out traditional plants used for their medicinal properties as well as spotting wildlife like toucans, herons, giant iguanas, tapirs, tarantulas, and monkeys in their natural habitats.
There may even be time for a quick and refreshing dip in the river before heading back to The Lodge.
The tour departs at 7AM and returns at 3PM.
